Winter Playground in the Parkland

There are many winter activities at Asessippi Ski and Resort.

From downhill skiing and snowboarding to snow biking, snowshoeing and tubing, there is something for everyone. Family friendly and accommodating to those with beginner skills, be confident that when you hit the slopes, a fun experience will be had by all.

Asessippi offers equipment rentals, snow school lesson and even adaptive skiing lessons. Ski, snowboard, hop on a magic carpet, or try snow shoeing. Plus there are plenty of places to sit back, relax and enjoy the great indoors once you’ve tried it all.

If snowmobiling is your passion, you will want to bring your machine to explore the Snowtraxx groomed snowmobile trails that are in the communities of Russell, Rossburn, Olha, Oakburn, Birtle, Foxwarren, St. Lazare and Binscarth. Ride along 380 kms of trails that are maintained by local volunteers.

Winter activities can really work up an appetite. Luckily, there are food options right at the ski hill. Take a snack break at The Cabin, a quick place for a hot drink and food.

Russell is home to several restaurants. Get your burgers and fries fix at Connie’s Drive In, sip fresh brewed coffee at Bin 22 Coffee Co. and enjoy full meals at the Russell Inn Family Restaurant.
